🌾 Smart Farming Made Simple: A Tool to Help Farmers Track and Plan Inputs Efficiently
Managing a farm isn’t easy — especially when it comes to keeping track of all the inputs that go into growing healthy crops. From seeds and compost to water and labor, small oversights can turn into big problems: wasted materials, higher costs, and lower yields.
At Simplico, we’ve been talking to farmers, agribusinesses, and agriculture advisors — and we’ve noticed a common pain point: there’s no simple, mobile-first tool to plan and manage farm inputs in one place.

🌾 The Problem: Too Many Inputs, Too Little Control
Many farmers still track their input use (fertilizers, seeds, pesticides, labor) in notebooks or spreadsheets — or sometimes not at all. This leads to:
- Overuse or underuse of fertilizers and pesticides
- Stockouts during critical growing phases
- Wasted money and poor harvests
- No visibility into costs per crop
There are big ag-tech tools out there, but they’re often built for large commercial farms. What about the everyday fruit, rice, or vegetable farmer?
📱 Our Solution: A Simple Input Planning & Tracking App
We’re building a mobile app that helps farmers:
- ✅ Plan inputs for each crop and field
- 📦 Track inventory (like fertilizers, compost, seeds)
- 🗓️ Schedule input application tasks (with reminders)
- 🧾 Record daily farming activities
- 💰 Analyze input usage and costs
- 📈 View reports for smarter future planning
All in a simple, visual, and mobile-friendly app that works even with basic tech skills.
🔍 Example Use Case: Durian Farming in Thailand
Let’s say you’re a durian farmer with 5 rai of land. The app would let you:
- Plan when to apply organic compost and how much per tree
- Keep track of how many liters of water you’ve used per week
- Log every pesticide spray, who did it, and how much it cost
- Get notified when you’re running low on a critical input
- See a summary of how much you’ve spent this month per crop
👂 We’re Testing This Idea — And We Need Your Feedback
Before we build this, we want to make sure we’re solving real-world problems for farmers.
✅ Would this kind of app be useful for you or someone you know?
✅ What features are most important?
✅ Are there any pain points we’ve missed?
👇 Leave a comment below or contact us — we’d love to hear from you.
