Running an EV charging network used to mean signing up with an expensive platform vendor and handing over control of your infrastructure. Simplico built an alternative: a fully managed OCPP server, operator dashboard, and zero-install driver app — all under your brand, on your terms.
See it live before you commit. Try our demo system: https://ocpp-dashboard.simplico.net/setup/
What the Platform Covers
Three components, ready from day one:
- OCPP 1.6 / 2.0.1 WebSocket server — connects to any standards-compliant charge point, any brand
- Operator dashboard with a step-by-step setup guide
- EV driver app — a mobile web page; no app store, no driver account required
No per-transaction fees to a third-party platform. No vendor lock-in.
How It Works: 6 Steps from Plug-In to Live Session
The demo environment at ocpp-dashboard.simplico.net/setup/ walks through the full flow. Try it with your own charge point — the page is public, no login required.
Step 1 — Check configuration. A live status panel confirms whether the server’s domain and API keys are set. Missing something? A direct link goes straight to admin settings.
Step 2 — Connect the charge point. Enter the Central System URL in your charger’s configuration panel:
wss://ocpp-ocpp.simplico.net
Set the CP Identity (e.g. CP_001), select protocol ocpp1.6 or ocpp2.0.1, reboot the charger.
Step 3 — Request credentials. Each charge point gets its own password under Security Profile 1 (Basic Auth). The setup page provides a pre-filled email template so your installer can request credentials without touching the admin panel.
Step 4 — Verify connection. A live table shows recently connected charge points — ID, status, and a detail page link. Nothing appearing? Reboot the charge point.
Step 5 — ID tags. RFID cards need a matching record in the system to authorize sessions. The driver app handles this automatically — no card required for app-based charging.
Step 6 — Generate the QR code. Enter a CP ID at the bottom of the page and the driver app URL and QR code appear instantly:
https://ocpp-dashboard.simplico.net/ev?cp=CP_001
https://ocpp-dashboard.simplico.net/ev?cp=CP_001&connector=1
Print it. Stick it on the charger. Drivers scan and charge.
The Driver Experience
No app install. No account creation. Your customer scans a QR code and charges.
- Scan QR → opens in any mobile browser
- Select connector (if multiple)
- Set amount — preset buttons or custom
- Tap Start → session begins via OCPP RemoteStart
- Live session: real-time energy, cost, and duration via WebSocket
- Stop → receipt summary delivered instantly
